ESPN & Camping World Kickoff officials and the two schools discussed moving the game up a week in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of college football.

Not sure what the various implications/repercussions of such a move might be...Any insights, E--? More "national" attention for game itself?
In the end, long as it doesn't affect timing/convenience/advantage for one team or the other I have no objection.

I think Florida benefits from having extra national attention a week before everyone else, plus they get an extra bye week.

The 150th season of college football will kick off a week early, as the Florida Gators and Miami Hurricanes will be played on Aug. 24, in Orlando, Fla. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally on ESPN. The game was originally scheduled for Aug. 31.

You're right: This is a good point in our overall "return to relevance" for us to BE stepping into the spotlight in this way, I think.
Can't wait, personally.
