I'm pissed that the game is called. Seriously?
Yeah me too. I'm very afraid we may be 0-2 at the end of week 3.
This is turning into a bad dream, one of those recurring nightmare scenarios where things keep repeating, only worse.
I have been thinking the very same things, the frustration of quick-dying hope already here and getting worse so early and so fast.
Practical AND cosmic forces seem arrayed against us: Once again we are a "team" in name only, it seems: after just one game, so clearly a floundering collection of selfish and ill-prepared individuals screwing up their own lives off the field; and ONfield, once more embodying everything wrong in that STILL moribund, futile offense...
And again, a meteorological disaster brings us a canceled game at what was/is for us and our program's WORST MOMENT POSSIBLE. Our only chance (however small) at snapping out of this gathering downward momentum, turning things around sharply here and NOW depended on us doing so IMMEDIATELY. We HAD to go out there and BEAT UP on someone, totally dominate and at least begin to find a new identity, TOGETHER! Then MAYBE start fresh on a new road, in a new direction, finally. Instead, more bad, sour memories and time to sulk, blame and stagnate.
I wasn't the slightest bit sure we would do anything different than that, based on this regime's "past performance" thus far--but we deserved, NEEDED the chance, at least.
And Mac doesn't exactly "face facts", either, doesn't really "take the bull by the balls". There's gotta be some determined and effective midground between Muschamp's purple-faced, apoplectic freakout and Coach Mac's rosy optimism-in-the-face-of-weekly mediocrity.
But it all just seems endlessly "beyond our (or anyone ELSE'S) control".
I hate it.
