Not a Lot of Respect (Guess We'll have to EARN it)

I don't wanna dwell on it, over-analyze it, or stew about it for another month...
Of COURSE we didn't get a whole lot in the way of love OR credit in the first of the big preseason's polls, The Coaches'. Got about what we could expect, really--we're there, but on the outer fringes of the pool of brighter light.
Some deserve to be there, some don't.
Lots of potential reasons, but the good news is we'll have plenty of opportunity to elbow our way up and into the center of things--and SOON.
In fact, practically as soon as things really get going. A month from now, our Reptiles get a crack on the big stage against Harbaugh's Wolverines.
Losing ain't a season-killer, obviously, but for now, personally, I'm holding my hopes (let alone resentment I may feel in the little credit we're getting so far from outside Gator Nation) in quiet abeyance until the outcome of that one, at least.
I'll have PLENTY to say after--especially if, WHEN we win!

The Gators have a relativity easy schedule this season though the opening game against UM is a toss up, only three road game against sub par teams.

In the sports writers' defense, the Gators "stock" was rising until 7 players were suspended, and 2 of them were caught with marijuana. Yes, the Gators will have to earn the respect of the polls and the sports writers, but the Gators simply need to improve the product on the field first--and do it without a few key players for a while.
