Couldn't agree more.
...And I'd add one more thing:
IF one of the freshmen (Franks, by rep, but ANYONE--including a true freshman they somehow grab in the coming class) DOESN'T step up and seize the QB role, and we end up with LDR in there again to start 2017, then I just don't see NEXT season looking a whole lot different from this one.
UNACCEPTABLE, and that will put and early end to the Mac-era...an unfortunate thing, I truly believe (I think we can still take THAT much away from the LSU game: This guy can coach...)--but that probably will be lost by the end of another season like this one. This fan base has been too frustrated for too long.
No, Coach must know: He has GOT to somehow go out and get a FEW more pieces on offense, then hope for at least a little better luck healthwise among those he's already got on BOTH sides of the ball--then win 2 or 3 more games than he managed somehow to eke out THIS time, AND LOOK A WHOLE LOT BETTER DOING IT!
I just don't believe "moderate, incremental progress" will be enough: They have somehow got to make a clear and dramatic move UP in the overall play of the offense. Believe me, I don't WANNA see us try and start all over AGAIN with someone else. But all it'd take is another 1/2 season or so of futile offense and a promising "young up'n'coming coach-of-the-moment" with rumored interest in the UF job, and I think that might do it.
(...oh--and once again I found myself thinking along the same lines bout Grier by the 2nd qrtr in last night's game, too. I mean, What GOOD did that move do him, really? He sure showed more than either of these transfers--and still had more long range potential for personal AND team success on a national scale AFTER the middle of this season, had he hung in, taken his punishment then returned to the depth chart here a few games back. I still don't get much of all that...Still think we MUST be missing some vital piece(s) of info re that whole mess.)
