No Game--But Get Ready for NEXT Week

After everything that has (collapse against Tennessee) and HASN'T happened (like, practically any Gator offense) this season so far, we nonetheless find ourselves at a true "turning point" in next week's game. Win at the "Party" in Jacksonville and it'll mean at least a couple/few more of the same, games that really MEAN something, the rest of the way.
Key to this one AND the rest of the season, imho, will be whether or not our COACH lives up to one of main reasons he got the job here in the first place--his record and rep as an OFFENSIVE mastermind: It is time, PAST time, he held his OC's feet to the fire to help come up with a truly creative gameplan on that side of the ball...They have the extra week off AND Luke's extra heal time to get some things done here and our get our currently best qb healthy and ready.

Let's keep it simple and leave it at that for now. But if we see little progress, there'll be a LOT more to say--especially if another good defensive performance is wasted (or worse, is put under so much pressure by repeated 3-and-outs by a plodding Gator O that it finally collapses late, as happened against the Vols). I suspect this will be a growing theme the rest of the way, I'm afraid--but it hasn't in fact HAPPENED yet, and as I noted at the start here, after everything so far we DO still now have a CHANCE to buck up, make do with where we are and what we have, and accomplish some things, MAKE something of this season after all.
So. Here we go.
GO GATORS!!!

Lucky week indeed. Next oponents are Arkansas and they're comming fast. Saturday - Gators versus Hogs.
"Here they come" is right (well, here they come on the schedule, here WE come (to challenge them, ourselves and EVERYONE'S accumulated expectations, mostly low ones, of these Gators) to what has turned out to be our next "turning point" in this very strange season...Last one was against the pre-injured, at the time on-the-come Vols, where our ad hoc offense surprised itself in the first half--but our "unbeatable" defense collapsed in the second, just appeared to wear out as the offense reverted to "worst case scenario" in scheme and performance. Yeah, "one bad half" doesn't really properly cover it.
So now begins a stretch of games we can"t feel very confident about, given all we've seen so far. But it IS "in our own hands".
Never mind what the media pundits, selection committee and/or the restof the nation says about us: we can argue and analyze it all endlessly and it really doesn't matter: We sink or swim now, Saturday to Saturday based completely on what we manage or don't manage to accomplish on the field--and scoreboard at "00.00".
Scary. But ultimately clear and refreshing--a relief, if you look at it a certain way, at least heading forward from here.
(Gonna have to see a WHOLE lotta change in plan AND execution from that so far WOEFUL offense of ours if the results are to be even "promising to our future", let alone "still in the conversation" more than another few DAYS, even, let alone by FSU.)
