Yes, we won this game. We beat Mizzou by an apparently comfortable margin.
Did YOU find it "comfortable"?
There's NO doubt about our defense:
It IS really good, and getting better.
It is of course the bad-and-getting-worse offense that puts us in floundering jeopardy every week.
Thanks to the D the ONLY danger, game in game out so far, involves that great defense ending up on the field SO much that unless it does enough scoring itself, it wears down, eventually tires and weakens enough that a patient and persistent offense will tend to break thru, begin putting some points up in the 2nd half.
Hell, we outplayed that Missouri team in every way yesterday, even on offense most of the first 3 quarters--and yet, take away those two quick pick-6's by our D mid-game and suddenly we're in a dog-fight at the end instead of freely subbing our back-ups and our BACK-UPS' back-ups in the 4th.
And of course THERE'S THE PROBLEM:
We just have NOT brought in the talent and depth at every position that an elite program ought to have done in our territory--and at least on offense, the same coaching staff responsible for coming up short "out there" has neither done much of a job in preparing, planning or executing the proper use of those they DID get.
WE NEED MORE PLAYMAKERS!!! Especially on offense, especially ESPECIALLY at QB.
So at this point, it ISN'T some capricious, out-of-the-blue tantrum to suggest that unless there is a noticeable, even dramatic turnaround in their play rest of the way here, and/or a HOMERUN of a recruiting cycle culminating on NSD, I suggest it may well be time already to scrap this coach and staff as soon thereafter as we think we have a real shot at bringing in someone who more likely can and WILL.
I suppose this is what I mean when I talk about "making that deal with the devil"...I LIKE our current Head Coach.
I DIDN'T necessarily feel that way about Urban Meyer, in fact truth be told, as a man he made me uncomfortable. Same only MORE so Nick Saban--I don't even LIKE that guy, though I suppose I'd LOVE what he did for our program if he were here, as I did Urban while he was still "fully here" (that weird period between his "I'm sick!"/"I'm back!" prima donna performance, and his underhanded use of his guise of "still-here at Florida" to negotiate his move to Ohio State and take as many of the best of his pending UF recruits with him as possible, was toxic to our program--and generally dispicable...And Saban flat out lied to the people who trusted him, promises he made face-to-face to longterm colleagues, young recruits and their families he'd charmed for months, even years, and so on--all the while KNOWING he was about to jump ship)...
But perhaps that kind of obsessive attention to WINNING AT ALL COSTS, IN EVERY WAY, is what is required in the first place now. I mean, I just mentioned The One Guy, and The One Guy Who Might Match Him, right there--and I'd be hard-pressed to name anyone else in EITHER'S league at turning things around and keeping pedal-to-medal right now...
But it does seem we gotta FIND "THAT Guy".
We better, if we want that kind of success.

(Meanwhile, I have no idea if we'll have the kind of AD who understands all this--let alone has the connections and temperment to take such insight and UF's "Big Stick"/"Sleeping Giant" status and parley it all into that "Right Choice/Big Win" at "Head Coach and His Hand-Picked Staff of Young Up'n'Comers"...)
