Gonna keep this real simple--short'n'sweet, I promise.
You could see all this crap about the "postponement/cancellation" coming long in advance.
WE could see it, WE weren't for it--and maybe there even WAS some element of "ultimate advantage" on the part of J. Foley in the "failed process"--HOPE so, 'cause then it'd all make SOME sense at our end. But we'll likely never know for sure: Foley walks away (technically he already HAS, as of Oct 1 officially "retired"), head up, lips sealed and the Gators back in charge of their own destiny this season, for now.
Thing is, the same media mofos who made such a loud "PC" noise about us HAVING to not play the game in the first place are the same crowd wringing their hands and crying "Foul!!!" now at the "weakness", the "injustice", the "CONSPIRACY" that has produced "this unfair and unacceptable impass". Not that there's been a natural "agenda" on THEIR part all along here. Oh no. Perrish the thought.
As for all the alternatives they are currently, suddenly so surprised weren't chosen at the time, I mean, the loudest of 'em keep bringing up that LSU "OFFERED to play it in Baton Rouge", etc. etc. Hell, not handing away a home game is the one thing I agree with and approve of in any of this, us turning that down FLAT. I only hope it continues to eat at the blustering press AND LSU fans more and more as time goes on!

Well, so much for all that:
Was just announced by our people that the LSU game WILL be played--in Baton Rouge at Tiger Stadium on Nov. 19! Our own folks CAVED, gave in to all the media pressure--and we lose TWICE, the home game AND a scrimmage game right when we needed one, against something called "Presbyterian" the week before the Big One against our cross state rival...So now its face Fournette on the road, then the Criminoles in Tallahassee.
I am just so disgusted. Betcha Foley's just shaking his head, thinking of Coach Mac and their team rest of this season and beyond, saddled with the current group of cowards and politicians in Gainesville and at SEC-central: "Goodluck with THIS buncha jelly-spined losers, guys...God knows I TRIED."
Whatever this season MIGHT have still been just got pissed on and flushed away.
IMHO.

Ah well, fact still remains, we either start pulling some over-the-top great recruiting classes or we'll be starting from scatch again by 2018, latest, ANYWAY...

It was a big mistake for a number of reasons including Gainesville wasn't near as affected by Matthew. Hey I'm hope everyone affected by Matthew is doing ok after the storm. I'm sure it wasn't easy but the I think they should have waited a little more time but making the time decision. It didn't help that the Carolina teams played there games (North Carolina schools in poor weather and South Carolina delayed their game until Sunday) and again it didn't help it was LSU and not some lesser known team. Plus they lose a home game and Fournette might be 100 percent by November 19th. Foley better hope the Gators win.
