Florida’s first full recruiting class under coach Mike White arrived on campus this week, with one notable exception.
White confirmed Wednesday that 6-foot-11 center Gorjok Gak is not enrolled for Summer B classes due to an eligibility issue. Gak, a native of Australia who attended Victory Rock Prep School in Bradenton, committed to Florida last April after asking out of his letter of intent at Oklahoma State.
Before speaking at a Gator Club event in Daytona Beach, White said he was hopeful that the eligibility issue would be cleared up and Gak would be enrolled by the fall. A borderline three/four star recruit, the 205-pound Gak averaged 10.9 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for Victory Prep this season.
White said Florida’s two other incoming freshmen — guard Eric Hester and forward Dontay Bassett — are on campus along with transfers Jalen Hudson (guard, Virginia Tech) and Canyon Barry (forward, College of Charleston).
