On Tebow playing in the 3rd quarter: I remember a game in which the GATORS were up 4 touchdowns over the Criminoles in the 4th quarter and lost the game. Late 80's?

Do you take the General out of the battle just because you are winning the war? I don't think so!

Again, you are misreading my words. I am not saying one learns how to take hits by bending the laws of physics or even bracing for hits. You learn how to take hits by taking hits and then coming back despite the hit. (Read my earlier posts if you think I am changing my position.)

If you take a hit in week 3 and then become gun shy and never recover, you have not learned how to take a hit. If you are gun shy for a week and then regain comfort in that situation by week 5 or 6, you have learned how to take a hit. Now take another hit. Keep taking hits until you are done taking hits. If that point where you are done occurs in 5+ years (Merril Hoge, Troy Aikman, Steve Young), then you go down in history as one of those guys who suffered numerous concussions but continued to play long enough to retire. Plenty of athletes do it, which is why certain positions can demand more salary--they need the money for medical bills for concussions, broken bones, and torn muscles.

Again, learning to take a hit has nothing to do with bracing for impact. Learning to take a hit has more to do with coming back after a hit.

well man idk what your tryn to get at...do you not remember 2007? He took hits and won a Heisman, he knows how to recover from hits he did it week in and week out....if your tryn to say this will help him deal with concussions later in the NFL, well that's hard to say on how bad the concussion is..either way its hard to become better at taking injuries when there are endless possibilities for diffrent types of injuries, legs hands arms ect.....

1994. Ended in a tie and the noles won the Sugar Bowl rematch. If the Gators had a D like they do now. Spurrier would have won in Tally.

In hindsight, yes, Tebow should not have stayed in the game as long as he did. But before Tebow went down, no one had this hindsight benefit.

Let's say the "holding" call on Hernandez wasn't made so Tebow came out of the game before he got hurt. How many people would be criticizing. Meyer for keeping Tebow in the game? Practically no one.

I think of this situation as being similar to lottery tickets. Of course, after the winning numbers are called and your ticket doesn't win, buying the ticket was stupid decision. That reasoning applies here.

If Tebow doesn't get hurt, no one would be second guessing Meyer, pure and simple. It's ok to second guess and criticize, but not with the benefit of hindsight.

Lately it seems that no matter what Meyer does, somebody has an issue with it.
