Dems vote to increase min. wage

Just saw last night that the democrats voted to increase the federal minimum wage to $7.15 or $7.25 an hour. That is $2 up from the current $5.15. While this does sound like a good thing, unfortunately, it will force a lot of 'mom and pop' shops to cut back on jobs. Not a good thing at all... :confused:

Minimum wage has not been $5.15 in a long time. I believe it's $6.75 right now. I think that with the prices of things going up, the only thing we can do is increase minimum wage. Sure, it might hurt some mom and pop stores, but it might not. More money means more money to spend. Personally, I like Mom and Pop stores for certain things...But then I like big stores. Besides, you don't see many mom and pop stores so much where I'm from. Just antique stores where the owner is the only worker.
