Is anyone really surprised that there was yet again another brawl in the NBA, this time between the Knicks and the Nuggets? What a bunch of thugs!

Stern came down hard on them though. Mellow got 15 games and the other guys all got like 10 games or 5 games. I think Anthony did throw in a cheap shot thats for sure. I mean who throws a punch and then runs the other way. If you're gonna hit someone, then stay there and take the retaliation.

Woah I didn't hear about that. I don't know about the thug part though. Some football players are like that too. Just look at the Miami brawl...

Football has their fair share of thugs, but in football contact and hitting is allowed. You're not allowed to swing at someone in any sport except hockey, but basketball has such a dirty image, they have to come down strong on players.

Wow that was worst than I thought. You have a good point though. Football players can take their anger out in games, but in basketball it's a little different.

I agree, we can understand about thugs in football. Moreover Football is a high-speed game and it takes a lot on the body of a player. So loosing temper is understandable but in basketball these are avoidable.

Oh yeah and basketball players must have so much stress not being able to hit/make contact with another player. Playing hockey is the best way to get rid of your anger :p

As a basketball player myself I know that it is very frustrating not being able to play rough sometimes. And the frustration do lead to brawls quite often . .

I think the brawl disgraced the NBA and Carmello should be suspended for games like Ron Artest did a couple years ago.

I'm a basketball player, too, and when you get dealt a couple of fouls in a row, it gets very frustrating because you have nothing to really take your anger out on. A lot of coaches can see this in the players and take them right off of the court, but in the NBA they are almost obligated to leave their stars on, which is unfortunate because then the stars get into things like this. Basketball takes a lot of self-control, more than a lot of players have right now.
