Our team will be missing some familiar faces with the departures of Tim Tebow, Joe Haden et al, but thanks to the awesome recruiting of Urban Meyer and his staff we’ve reloaded our roster with talent to take us into the future. The third annual Gator Charity Challenge at Florida Field was held on Friday night. The Gator Charity Challenge is a fun event where football players compete against each other in ’strongmen’ competition like exercises while trying to win for their assigned charity. Strength, agility and speed were all tested through a series of four events including an obstacle course, sled push, farmer’s hold and tug of war competition.

The SEC Media Days wrapped up in Birmingham with the Florida Gators being the odds on favorite to win the SEC East… but they didn’t receive enough votes to bounce Alabama off of being the favorite to win the entire SEC. Still not bad considering the team lost like 10 starters, including Tim Tebow. It just goes to show how efficient Urban Meyer has been on the recruiting trail. This team is stocked at nearly every position.

The Florida Gators football program is under investigation by the NCAA over allegations that former Center Maurkice Pouncey took a $100,000 payment from someone close to an agent before the 2010 Sugar Bowl. “We were made aware of some information in early June that we reported to law enforcement and we then shared with the NCAA and the SEC,” Foley said in a statement. “At this time we have no information that has indicated that there are any compliance issues for the University of Florida.”
