Florida Football is just 1 day away! Can you believe it? By noon tomorrow the Florida Gators, led by new quarterback John Brantley, will take the field at home vs. the Miami of Ohio Redhawks. Florida is a heavy favorite to win the game – Vegas has them at -36.5 for those of you into betting on games. The Gators went through a lot since the last game — we had a semi Urban retirement, we lost a dozen players to the NFL Draft, and had a couple of arrests — but it all starts fresh tomorrow afternoon. A new era of Gator football is here. Are you ready?

The Florida Gators will be wearing the new 2010 Nike Pro Combat Rivalry uniforms for the Florida vs. Georgia Game on October 30, in Jacksonville Florida. Nike has unveiled new uniforms I think yearly now since around 2006. The helmet and numbering feature alligator patterning – like skin – and the baselayer is made up entirely of the new skin look. The cleats are new, the white jersey has a skin look on the sleeve and the pants are blue. The gloves will be special too … when you put your hands together it will form the Gator head logo. Back in December of 2008, I had posted a topic in the football forums, in the form of an open letter, about not believing everything you read and hear based on some insipid rumors that were floating around at that time. Once again, Gator Nation was forced to deal with a story that somebody decided to read too much into and misinterpret, thus starting the rumor mills spinning and an uproar amongst the Gator Nation faithful; luckily in the case of Gator freshmen Dominique …

Yesterday we had some quick interview questions from the offensive coaches… well, today we have an interview video with the Gators new star quarterback John Brantley. Everything we have heard from the coaches this fall is that John Brantley is as good as advertised, if not better. He has a strong, accurate arm and has taken over the leadership role on the offense. Getting any new info about the Florida Gators this training camp has been nearly impossible. Urban Meyer closed all practices to the public and he has instructed his assistant coaches to not really talk to the media. It’s hard to know where this team is right now, we just have to assume everything is running on all cylinders. Gator Vision did catch up with Steve Addazio, Zach Azzanni and Stan Drayton though for some quick updates on the offense. Check out the video.
