The Florida Gators football team kicks off Spring Practice today, but you may not have heard much talk about it. Why? Because the annual Gator Pro Day is today as well and everyone in the world has their eyes on Tim Tebow. Tim, along with Joe Haden, Carlos Dunlap, Brandon Spikes, Riley Cooper and ten other Gators will have a chance to workout in front of NFL Scouts this morning. Tebow’s workout is special because he didn’t throw at the NFL Combine and will be unveiling a new throwing motion.

Gators Are Headed to the NCAA Tourney

After two years of play in the NIT, the Florida Gators are now headed back to the NCAA Tourney. The Gators finished the season with a 21-12 overall record, 9-7 in the SEC. Their performance in the SEC Tournament was OK – they beat Auburn, then fought back against a tough Mississippi State team even though they couldn’t pull out the win. However, it was enough to give them a No. 10 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament. The Gators will play No. 7 seed BYU in the first round on Thursday in Oklahoma City.

SEC Tourney: Quarterfinals, Miss. State

The Florida Gators defeated the Auburn Tigers last night by a score of 78-69, thus advancing to the quarterfinals tonight vs. Mississippi State tonight. The Gators are now 7-0 vs. the SEC West, but will have a tough game against the No. 1 seed Bulldogs – a team Florida beat earlier in the season 69-62. A win tonight will definitely put the Gators in the NCAA Tourny, a loss might still keep them on the bubble.

SEC Tournament: Round 1, Auburn

The SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament tips off today in Nashville, Tennessee. #4 seed Florida will play #5 seed Auburn at 7:30 p.m. EST in the third game of the day, and will be televised on the SEC Network. Florida went 6-0 against the SEC West this season, including a 78-70 win over Auburn earlier this year in Gainesville. The Gators are currently 20-11, 9-7 SEC and on the bubble for the NCAA Tournament – there’s no doubt… they must win tonight vs. Auburn.

Gators Close Hoops Season With A Loss

The Florida Gators finished out the 2009-2010 men’s basketball regular season on Sunday afternoon with a 66-74 loss to the No. 3 Kentucky Wildcats. No one was giving the Gators a chance to win that game in Lexington, but it still sucks to see our team close off the season with three straight losses. That is definitely not going to sit well in the minds of the NCAA Tourney voters. The Gators will now travel to Nashville on March 11 for the SEC Tournament. They’ll have to win a game or two here to ensure a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
