Gators vs. Dolphins in Jacksonville Tonight

The Florida Gators men’s basketball team is on the road tonight in Jacksonville to face the JU Dolphins. The Gators are currently 7-0 and ranked 13/17 in the country. Florida leads the all-time series between the two schools, 27-4, including eight straight. The last time they met was in the 2009 NIT Tournament.

The Gators are 7-0 for the first time since 2005 and for just the fourth time in school history. It’s not the offense that has been blowing teams out this year, it has been the Gator’s defense that has carried the team, holding its four opponents to just 56.6 points per game. UF has been disruptive defensively, forcing 17.8 turnovers per game, including 81 in the last four outings. They are also holding opponents to just 20.0 percent from three-point range.

Expect the same crew of starters to go tonight vs. JU as they have been all year.
Dan Werner – F
Alex Tyus – F
Vernon Macklin – C
Kenny Boynton – G
Erving Walker – G

I expect the Gators to win this game. The dolphins are currently winless. They have only one good player, Ben Smith – if the Gators stop him then the Dolphins don’t have a chance.
