Gator Softball Headed to WCWS

The Florida Gators women’s softball team had a scare yesterday afternoon when they trailed the Alabama Crimson Tide 2-5 in the 7th inning. That is until senior Ali Gardiner stepped up to the plate and delivered a walk-off grand slam with two outs. The Gators (63-3) are headed to their first-ever WCWS championship series.  They will play the first of a best-of-three series for the NCAA Championship on Monday, June 1 at 8 p.m. (ET).

The Gators are joined by three-seed Washington (49-11)in the Women’s College World Series held in Oklahoma City. Florida will be heavily favored… I’ve heard some experts mention this Gator team among the best softball team’s of all-time. If the Gators softball team can bring home a NCAA Championship it will further cement the University of Florida as the best sports school in the conference, if not the country.

Good luck and Go Gators!
