Gators Look to Improve to 14-0 vs. Citadel

You read that right (and no I’m not talking about our 2008 season record). The Florida Gator football team will look to improve their all-time record versus the Citadel to 14-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Some people are saying this is just another “off-week”, but with so much on the line, any slip up could be costly to the Gators. Now a win is a win, but should the Gators stumble and only win by 3 points or something… it could bump them down in the BCS standings. However, if things play out how they’re supposed to and the Gators win by 50… they should be OK.

I haven’t heard yet how much Urban Meyer wants to play his starters in the game. I think if the Gators can get up to an early 21-0 lead, then we may only see the starters play a few minutes into the second quarter.

Florida has outscored opponents 299-63 during its six-game winning streak, including 101-0 in the first quarter. “We’ve started off every game real well,” Gators cornerback Joe Haden said. “We come out with so much energy and juice, so much passion to play, that it seems to overwhelm the other teams.”

My score prediction for the game is 63-7, Gators win.

Remember, the game is not being broadcast on regular TV. You’ll have to order it on Pay Per View or check it out at a sports bar. You should still be able to listen to it on the radio though. So if you want to chat with other Gator fans while the game is on, head over to the Gator Envy Forums or the Live Chat. We’ll have gameday discussions and chatting going on.
